For this project, we were tasked with choosing a toy, creating a realistic adaptation of that figure in Adobe Illustrator, and then designing an infographic about the toy or figure.
At the start of this project, I chose to design a Devin Booker Funko Pop figure. I believed it would challenge me to produce a high-quality result. As I began sketching the figure, I realized that using too many gradients could make parts look smeared and rushed. I learned that I needed to apply gradients carefully and even redo some areas. To complete the character I needed to decided what to include in the background, which starts to list, and what features to give the toy. I settled on incorporating a pie chart of his basketball skills, a bar graph of his Funko Pop sales compared to other teams, and a basketball court background. As I put the finishing touches on the design, I could see that all the hard work and long nights paid off. The final infographic poster highlights the key aspects of this character in a visually compelling way.
