My goal was to sculpt a realistic penguin family in an arctic setting using only triangles, which made the project deeply meaningful to me personally.
Creating this project took about 3 months, starting with finding an excellent image that, with time and care, would turn out amazing. After selecting the best image, I had to decide which penguins to begin with. Once I chose the penguins, the challenge was making the triangles small enough to avoid a lumpy look, but large enough to be recognizable. As I worked, I kept encountering a problem I had tried to avoid: triangles that were too big. I had to repeatedly go back and make them smaller. After completing all three penguins, it was time to create a nice arctic background. By searching for a snow texture, mountain scene, and blue sky in Photoshop, I combined them and used a faint white brush to add fog, achieving the scene I envisioned.
